I need to wear a black shell under a top. Only the bottom of the sleeves will show and a little by the neckline.
What material shell for something dressy? Mine is modal but I think it might look too simple.
What’s your opinion?

I love modal.
Today it is so acceptable to wear shells, I think its ok

I wear Lycra shells for dressy events. They have a bit of a shine to them and don't look so "flat."

If only a bit is showing, then use whatever material will blend in best with the outfit. If the outfit is shiny, get a Lycra shell. If the outfit is matte, keep your modal one.
