I have my sister's shower on motzai shabbos. Her friends are making it. I want to bring a gift that is an "extra". I was thinking a couple board games but not sure about it. I am getting her cookbooks for when us sisters taker her out before her wedding. any good ideas?

I had an absolutely amazing surprise bridal shower and I literally received every household item I'd ever need.
With that being said, I preferred the things I use often and I still use 18 years later.
The "extras" were not as long lasting or meaningful but I definitely enjoyed them while it lasted .
Examples of "extras":
Faux floral centerpieces for the tables
Paintings / Wall Hangings for the kitchen
Decorative Cookie Jars to display
A nice green house plant
Decorative mirror

She is getting all her household stuff and it is not needed to be brought to her shower. The shower is more for fun so I want a fun gift for her to use.

That's a really cute idea! I don't think it's so applicable to her since we are all big cooks and she has been cooking dinner she was ten. She knows all our recipes by heart!

Something useful, but a little bit of a luxury, like:
an ice cream maker,
ostrich feather duster,
really nice speakers,
a steamer,
pressure cooker,
mandolin slicer,
valet hangar,
a game that can be added to like pandemic,
Something unexpected like juggling scarves and balls.
Baby wipes. They are great for everyone.
A nice set of coffee mugs.
Expensive cooking ingredients that she may not want to spend on now.

The gifts I gave for the last few vorts I attended were:
1) Decorative netilas yadaim cup (tepel in yiddish) with 2 monogrammed fingertip towels. Nicely set up.
2) crystal 3 round dip holders attached to each other
3) gold colored dessert spoons & forks

Bread machine.
It could be used to bake bread, or make challah dough, pizza dough, etc.
The one I have now is on sale at Walmart for $38. It's great cause it has a delay start setting teven on the dough setting.

My mother used to give that and in addition, a filled sewing box.

One of my favorite gifts was a dustbuster. It mounts on the wall so it's apartment friendly, and it's so useful for cleaning up small messes without having to take out the whole vacuum. And it gets even more useful when there are kids in the house.

My sister made me something similar, not specifically with family recipes but things I would want to make. She bought a regular cookbook in a store with the standard dividers and put approx. 3-4 recipes in each section. Love!!
