Do you see the shechita?

Do you have an office job or hands-on with the chickens?

No, I don't see the shechita-that's in another room-though I could go look if I want to.
Job is hands on.

Do you eat chicken?

How are the chickens treated? Is it humane?

I don't think so. I have never heard that term before. What does it mean?

Yes I eat chicken.
I don't see the live chickens. They come packed in open crates. They are taken from the crates and held for shechita. If they are abused, they are likely to be rendered taif, so they are not handled too roughly.

Do you appreciate the hashgacha of your plant more? Is they're anything special to look for as a consumer, or are they all the same?

How do they deal with the extra demand at the chagim?

I supervise the salting process.

I also make sure people are wearing the proper safety gear needed.

I also work in the production part-boning, bagging, clipping, boxing-whatever needed.

Occasionally, I will answer phones if there is no one else manning the office-very rarely, but it happens.

I've never been in other plants, so can't compare hashgachas of other plants. I am impressed with ours.
we don't only do our brand, we shecht and process for others too. So we answer to a few different hashgacha companies.
As a consumer, I recommend our brand chicken-but as I won't say who I work for....

For chagim we may work on a sunday or 2, work longer hours, and stock up in advance. We work during the 9 days (not tisha ba'av), but don't sell much then. So that helps stock up for rosh hashana thru succos.
Before a yom tov, more chicken is sold fresh than frozen.

Can you tell us about the plant’s cleaning protocol? I’ve heard that processing plants are virtual “oil skating rinks”.

Have you ever been pregnant while working in this job? If yes how do you cope with nausea and raw chicken?
