I disagree with you. Maybe that’s how some people you know got jobs but I know personally many examples where that wasn’t the case.

How did most get their internships and interviews, if companies get hundreds of resumes from grads of top notch schools?

Career services in school helps people send out their resumes and get interviews.

I’m not saying connections don’t help I’m just saying that it’s not a must.

Dunno, I know top of the class super achievers from top schools not getting decent jobs.

There are only two T14 Schools in nyc. And the non T14 students get internships during the semester because they are local.

Because some work environments value other skills besides attendance at a “top” school. For example, I argued (and won) in appellate court as a 2L, did extra-curriculars such as Moot/Trial court as well as a variety of non-legal volunteer positions.
