I'm making a Chinese chicken dinner, recipe calling for hoisin sauce, what can I substitute? And will recipe taste good or should I rather go and buy it? Tia

Lee Kum Kee vegetarian hoisin sauce is delicious but if you can't get to it

4 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp honey
2 tsp vinegar
1/8 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp sesame oil
20 drops hot sauce (optional)
1/8 tsp black pepper

Simply mix together
At first, it does not appear like it will mix, but keep at it just a little bit longer and it will.
