BH we have what we need (doesn't everyone) but I would like to go from receiving tzeddaka (tuition breaks and help from parents) to giving tzeddaka.
Has anyone here done this with the guidance of a Rav? How much did you give (eg did you take the gifts from your parents into account) and to whom did you give it?

What do you mean by "testing hashem"? What is your expectation?

I thought there was a Chazal somewhere that says you can give tzeddaka with the expectation that He will pay you back. It's the only area where you are allowed to test Hashem.
Not sure what my expectations are. That we could comfortably pay full tuition without relying on the generation before us? That we could comfortably help someone else w tuition?
