Just put in a load in washing machine, can I wait until tomorrow morning to transfer it to dryer or will it get moldy and smelly?

When I do that by accident the clothes smell like detergent in the morning. One thing though: if you plan on hanging anything or laying flat to dry, the clothing will be pretty creased from sitting overnight.

It could get smelly. I wouldn't take the chance. I've had smelly laundry a few times from accidentally falling asleep.
