Was asked to bring a salad to the meal we are going to- no nuts or legumes.. The only thing coming to mind is taco salad, but that is no the healthiest and I know our host has been very careful about what she eat, so I want to be considerate of that... any other suggestions- Nothing is popping at me from my recipe books that fit the no nuts and legumes...

I usually make a salad for Shabbos lunch with either grilled chicken or deli in it.

Base of lettuce
Ad ins are any of the following: pickles, baby corn, hearts of palm, avocado, cherry tomatoes
Topped with grilled chicken or deli chunks (or both)
Dressing varies. Either a caesar dressing or a balsamic vinaigrette.

You can do a marinated mushroom salad-very good https://www.kosher.com/recipe/.....-1939
You can do a cabbage salad. A lot call for roasted almonds but you can just leave them out.
You can do a pasta salad, but that's also not so healthy.

I like the deli or grilled chicken salad. Lettuce based with either a Caesar dressing or honey/mustard dressing.
Plus is that if I don't like something served the chicken or deli makes it even more satisfying.

Why not a basic garden salad? Very healthy and can be served with either fish or meat course.

I wouldn’t bring a grilled chicken salad without asking first. And pasta salad is not what people mean when they ask you to bring a salad. What if she is serving grilled chicken as the main? I would make a green salad with vegetables and a lemon basil dressing.
