I would say go with a wooden one that does not have the silver or the glass top. The glass top almost always breaks and it's hard to get another one. Also, I don't like the ones with the legs, it rips the plastic tablecloth or gets stuck in the tablecloth. they used to sell a nice wooden one that looked like the kosel and it came with a built in challah knife on the side. Do they sell them still?

We got a glass/silver/wood one as a wedding gift. 11 1/2 years later it’s stillgood. Since we value our knife, we put a simple wood one on top.
I think a wood board with a beautiful frame or handles would be nice.

The challah board we use is a one piece, which I think may be wood (though lined with something to make it pretty), and is easy to clean. (I had that one for many years, and it lasts.)
We had a glass one once, it was heavy, and therefore difficult for me to clean.
We had a wood one that had a grate to catch the crumbs. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but the grate eventually cracked, and I had to clean a two piece board rather than one board.
I personally would go with a simple wooden board and leave it at that. It should be lightweight and easy to clean.
