After spending weeks going back and forth about the lease on the Monsey apartment, the landlord called before Shabbos and informed us that he may be forced to sell the property which would cancel our lease.

He is an elderly Chassidishe man who is very nice and he apologized profusely and said that he would know in a week.

We don't see any other rentals in the Adar Ct, Park Lane area which is near a shul that my husband likes.

We called the numbers in the ads in the Community links but they don't call back.

Our Crown Heights kids want us to look there.

If you have a lease the new owners have to legally honor the lease. BTDT! That's the law. If you have a lease, just cuz the house is sold doesn't void the lease. There are laws on tenants/ landlord. I suggest you get yourself educated what exactly your rights are. New York the laws are more favorable to the tenants than to a landlord

It has legal standing and if you want to fight for your rights you can.

OP that's quite disappointing after all the planning. Is there any other Monsey area your DH would possibly agree to move to? What neighborhood does your Monsey family live in?

Spring Valley. My husband has bad feet and wants to be close to a shul. He likes Rabbi Oberlander at Chechal Menachem.
