I am desperate for a classic wool or wool blend A line skirt. Black. I have two but they are looking very tired and they are the absolute backbones of my winter wardrobe. I have looked in every online and brick and mortar store I can think of. Any ideas?

Talbots riding skirt. I believe it’s mild-calf.

Chadwicks of Boston. Great quality and reasonable prices.

Simba, It looks nice but I wanted something a bit shorter and less flared. (Yes, I am a picky customer.)

Ivory, I am a huge fan of Uniqlo (where I just got both DD's that amazing full cotton skirt marked down to $9.90!) But this particular skirt is a bit bulky and not tailored enough.

FF thanks for the Chadwicks suggestion. I have looked at their clothes but wasn't sure of quality given the prices.

Keep the ideas coming! Thanks, all!

It IS nice. And the plum color is gorgeous. But the heavier material and the seams read "casual" in person. (But I got it for DD.)

Where are you located? Fame in the five towns (in NY) sells a medium weight A line skirt that's very popular.

I am in Manhattan. (I know -- you would think that I could find something to wear here.) I rarely come to the Five Towns but maybe it's time for a visit.

Look at Fox on line. Perhaps their fit and flare skirt will work.

Second the motion for Chadwicks. If you buy the short wool skirt in size tall and you are not actually tall it comes to a nice modest length. Skirts are not super thick but definitely warm and lined as well. been buying them for years....
