What to serve with latkes?

I think an egg dish like quiche or a baked omelette works well with latkes. I'd be seriously disappointed if someone served fleishigs and I didn't get sour cream on my latkes.

We served one night with meatballs and zucchini soup, one night dairy with omelets.

Latkes are delicious eaten fresh and plain. They are served together with a meal of chicken and vegetables.

BTW, my latkes have fewer eggs than my kugel recipe. And I grate the potatoes instead of using the kugel blade. They come out seriously yum!

I make various kinds of homemade applesauce all year round. This week I made cranberry and it was delicious w the latkes. The tartbess really complimented the oil. No recipe; I just cut up as many apples as I want (peeled or not), add cranberries in roughly a 2:1 ratio and water to almost cover, cook till very soft, puree w a stick blender. Sweeten to taste if it's too tart for you. Also yummy with blueberries, plums, peaches......
