I'm searching for good, light reading: something I can read when I'm tired, which isn't on my phone, and which is very portable.
Things I've loved in the past:
The Night Circus
Anything by Isaac Asimov
Ringworld
Ender's Game
Warriors series
Protector of the Small series
Anything written by Diana Wynne Jones
The Yearling
Where the Red Fern Grows
Tangerine
The City of Ember
The Chronicles of Narnia series
Sons of Liberty
Inkheart
Maniac Magee
I like well-written literature. I hate chic lit, gratuitous zex or violence, and sad endings.
Horror bores me.
Any ideas, lovely ladies?

The Handmaid's tale
The Underground Railroad
The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto
Gone Girl
The Invention of Wings
Ken Follet- Fall of Giants ( series)
The Time Travelers Wife
Outlander- ( based on the books you loved, you'd probably like Outlander..but not kosher in any way shape or form. Still one of the best series I've ever read.)
Do you like historical fiction?? Because then I'll recommend more

You ladies are lifesavers! Thank you!
And Chartreuse - yes! I love everything from FS Fitzgerald through "The Help." Historical fiction with accurate details is the best.

I think you mean "clean" rather than kosher.
If you reword your thread title you may get more accurate info.

The World to Come, Dara Horn
The Sparrow, Mary Doria Russell (I wouldn't exactly call it kosher, but the problematic part is central to the message)
The Brief History of the Dead, Kevin Brockmeier
Interpreter of Maladies, Jhumpa Lahiri (don't remember if this was clean)
Hitchhikers series for something lighter - basically a loving parody of Asimov
Anything by Ray Bradbury
edited to remove The Weight of Ink, Rachel Kadish (I was discussing with a friend and realized it has several problematic scenes that I just skipped over)
