This erev Shabbos I listened to a song by Mizumen called "Who's Gonna Tell Their Story?" and found myself bawling over the kitchen sink thinking about how incredible it is that my grandparents came to America with nothing but their faith and their resilience, and what an incredible dynasty they rebuilt. I have thought about this idea before but this song completely blew me away with its poignancy. And I don't cry easily!
What songs make you yearn? Cry? Touch the infinite? Reconnect to yourself? Make you soar inside?
Thanks - listened to this and heard my great aunt speaking her name as witness. Never knew she was recorded
anyone know the song of the child by the chupa...I think singing to his father..you promised you'd be here with me.?
It's on a Yonosan Shwartz CD
Listened to it the day before my wedding, and couldn't stop crying hysterically, as my father was sick then
Haven't listened to it since

Sorry then. The other song I posted was the closest match I know.
Deaf man in the shteble. Omg bawling is not even the word!! Maybe I’m extra sensitive since my dd is deaf
Daddy come home but I HATE listening to it cuz they have you all invested in this poor kids dad situation and your bawling and then he gets home so ur bawling from happiness now and it’s like where do I put my emotions? I was so sad a second ago now I’m happy Poor kid. Then I think about the real kids that go through this and the bawling never ends.

Memories by Abie Rottenberg. Cannot listen to that at work.
In Evinkeleh by Deveykus (original)
Pretty much all Deveykus songs and most Abie Rottenberg songs, now that I think of it.
Oh, the list is very long. Every tefila of the Yomim Noraim, every song about the existence of Jews, holocaust, persecution.
Kids singing. Tears. Yiddish songs from yesteryear. Tears. Songs of thanks to Hashem. Tears. Songs of yearning. Tears.
