Pls recommend pediatric GI in NY area

I went to see a pediatric GI with my son. He seemed to be competent, but his bedside manner was a bust. He took a phone call while I was talking to him about my concerns. He explained nothing to my son before beginning the examination on him. He then did little to explain his findings, other than a very brief description of what he found and instruction to schedule an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I am looking for someone who is both competent, and kind and reassuring with children. Please recommend. Thank you so much.

I will second Dr. Levy in NYU. Was just there with my son and he had all the time and patience to answer my questions

I was actually given his name and haven’t had a chance to call him. What type of issues does your child have? I’m wondering if it’s similar to my kid. You can message me if you want, or you can post it here.

I’m happy to see that the two who I used in the past are not on the list of recommended GIs....

I was also very impressed with Levy. Although it was for a tiny thing he gave tons of his time and had tons of respect and patience to the child. Besides that if you enter with a Yddish book he starts reading a word in Yddish and you and your child will be speechless. Because the issue was BH very minor I told my pediatrician that I dont mind a long wait of months as long as he gives me the best Dr. So he said that if I dont mind waiting it pays to go to Levy NYU

If New Jersey is good for you, Dr. Jennifer Jimenez works in both Neptune and Jackson. She's young and cute and explains everything very well.

Dr. Sahn had happened to be the ped GI on call at Cohen's Children while my son was in the hospital over a Shabbos, and so when my son wasn't getting better, the ped worked some magic and got us into his regular practice right away. (And then my son was hospitalized again. Very scary time.)

Otherwise, I'm not sure how long the wait is - but we've seen other pediatric specialists within the LIJ network and it seems like the wait is a couple weeks maybe?
