Ok, so dd is old enough to attend sleep away camp and I feel she's ready for it and will gain and benefit from it. But how can I afford it?
I could barely afford local day camps and am still paying up from last summer and every summer, am so extremely tight financially, barely breathing.
How can I commit to this expense?
That's besides the clothing and other shopping for camp and other hidden expenses like transportation etc.

Can you apply for a scholarship? Is she old enough to work 1/2 summer?

I'm asking for reduced rates and will see if she can get job but still..

It's really tough to afford it. I still don't know how we did it for our big girls. DH took extra tutoring jobs all year to pay for it, though truth is, it was still tough to pay for it....
I'm in no hurry to send my youngest. I'll push it off for as long as I can.

Where I live its pretty common for girls to work 1/2 a summer to pay for 1/2 summer of camp.

My girls did this, but the pay for working does not cover the cost of camp by a far stretch. Maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost, depending on the particular camp and how much of a break they give you....
