I have two with HFA. It's hard not to notice their quirks.
Neither enjoys being at the Shabbos table. Both have sensory issues that definitely make them quirky. Both have difficulty controlling temper under stress, and can get worked up over little things.
Both also have some amazing skills, where they leave their peers in the dust.
Both, for all their difficulty with perspective taking, are incredibly kind and loving, and can be wonderfully insightful about people, in between the times they are totally clueless.
I love them with all my heart, but I can't say that I don't notice the ways I'm still working to educate them to "pass" in polite society.
