Lieba I assume is Libby.
I've never met a Lolly. Is it short for lollipop?

I know two people named lolly. One is Leah, the other is Elana. I think it can come from any name with an L in it.
Libby is usually Liba.

Another vote for Lali (how it's spelled in my family) being Leah.

That certainly is a better spelling than Lolly.

Libby is usually for Liba.
I know two women named Lolly and one is Leah and the other is Dalia. They are chassidish, but I think it's more of a "cutesy" nickname.

My daughter is Liba. We call her Liba, Libby, or Liba'la. Chassidish.
I love her name. How it sounds, what it means and whom she's named after.

Dumb question:
How are they pronounced? Do I understand correctly that Liba is Lee-ba and Libby is Lib-bee? Wouldn't a more natural nickname be Lee-bee? Or is Liba ever Lib-ba? I guess I don't understand how that nickname came to be.

It is pronounced like the English name Libbie (like the I in "lift"). There are other names pronounced that way: Simi for Sima (which some people always say short), Mimi for Miriam (not meemee), Lizzie for Aliza, etc.. There are names like that in English too.

We used to call my daughter Lali. Her name is Leah and there is another L in her second name.
