My 6 month old used to wake up every 2-3 hours. This past night was 1-2 hours. I am exhausted bh. I tried searching online but there is an information overload. Can you recommend what worked for you?

I nurse him because it's the only way he falls back to sleep. But he's not hungry.

If he’s not hungry don’t feed him!
First eliminate other factors like teething or illness.
Only start sleep training once these are ascertained
I recommend Ferber for this age
