I am in the UK, which potatoes are the best for tshulent or even roast potatoes?
Many I use are breaking up or become mashed intead of keeping their form.

I find that red potatoes are the best not to break apart.

I tried white potatoes and they started breaking too 🤷🏻‍♀️.
Never tried the red ones. What's their difference to normal ones?

Do you have the yellow ones? Those seem to be the firmest. Also try putting them whole and on top.

They don't become too soft. They are often used in Potatoe salad since they stay firm and don't break apart. For example you can't make mashed potatoes out of red potatoes.
I buy the bigger red potatoes for Cholent , not the mini ones. And peel them. Often red potatoes are cooked with the peels on, but in Cholent it tastes better without the peels. (Ive tried it both ways)

Thank you will have to try it.
Can I also use the red ones for roast potatoes?
