I want an English name for a girl in honor of a Steven, but do not like Stephanie because it is dated. So, let's see if you can think of anything. I really hope Ruchel will participate because she is so knowledgeable. It does not have to be the same name or a derivative, but could have the same meaning. I like more modern, trendy names with a classic twist - think Cohen for a boy or Clarke for a girl. Some of the names I've thought of have been Steffa, Stephana, etc. Can be in any language as long as it would work in the US. Let the game begin!

Steven means "crown" so you can go with Atara
Or Reina, or Regina, or Sarah for "queen"

Stefana, Steffie, Estefania, Stefania, Stevonne, Stella, Stevie.
Etiennette is feminine French version of Stephen
Atarah means "crown" same as Steven

What about just going with Stevie, like Stevie nicks?

A pp said that Steven means crown; you can use the name Kether. Even though it's Hebrew, I've only heard of it as a name with actress Kether Donahue.

Other ideas:
Sophia
Seraphine
Ava
Seven 😂
Evelyn

If Stéphanie is dated do NOT go for Etiennette.

What was Steven's Hebrew name? You can use that as a starting point.

This is Imamother, Connecting Frum Women.... Frum women give their children Jewish names. It is the way it has always been, even in Mitzraim. There are plenty of Facebook groups for non-jews who can advise you about English or French or Italian names. I don't understand this post

Shlomo so will probably use Shulamit, but need something that will work as an English name and to the other ima, plenty of FRUM, even right ring chareidim give their children English names and have a mesorah to do so.
