Hi,
I currently only use frying pans, and I'd like to purchase a cast-iron skillet. However, all the ones I'm seeing are pre-seasoned. Is it possible to get without?
Thanks!

Yes, we just got one for our wedding! The brand is Cajun Cast Iron, they specifically come either "seasoned" or "unseasoned."

If it's cast iron, you need to specifically look for an unseasoned one. All others are seasoned.

Pre seasoning is fine per the COR.

Interesting. I called the Star-K to ask about pre-seasoning and they said that the pan would need to be kashered (like in a self-cleaning oven) and the reseasoned.

I'm not your LOR, but there's now a kosher cat iron. You can get it on the pepper mill website.

The Monsey View had an interesting article about pans, including cast iron. Maybe contact them for the article.

Ask them what they think if cor’s Stance. This only came out a couple of years ago. There are other procedures for actual used pans

There's chilukei deios, like all halacha.

COR researched it intently. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me. It’s a major hashgacha made up of rabbis of different hashkafot. My LOR is good with them plus, as a former business under their hashgacha and trained as a mashgiach for them, I’m good with them.

Yes, and they say there's chilukei deios. This is the opinion they follow, others follow different opinions. No one is saying one is correct and one is incorrect, it's simply a matter of how each is interpreting halacha.
