Hi, Detroit ladies!
Thinking of going to Detroit next Sun-Mon for winter break. We have reciprocal membership that we can use to go for free to the MI Science Center and Toledo Imagination Station (we are coming from Ohio)... I thought we'd do one each day, but they are both closed on Mondays.

So... What cheap activities do you recommend inn Detroit on Mondays?☺

And if you've been to both of the afore-mentioned museums, which is better?

We've been to the Ann arbor hands on museum which is an interactive science museum for kids. My kids had a great time there. It was free with reciprocal museum membership but double check before to see if yours is covered. Not sure how old your kids are but my oldest is 7 and had a great time.

Belle Isle Aquarium, Nature Center, and Museum (all free)
Outdoor Adventure Center (low cost)
Drive into Canada (20 minute drive) just for the fun of it.
Ride the people mover around Detroit ($0.75 per person, little kids free)

Check if Belle Isle and Outdoor Adventure Center are open Mondays in the winter. Hours vary based on the season.

I no longer live in Detroit but before I moved some grandchildren came to say goodbye to the house. For kids under 5, Air Time trampoline park was $5 a day plus a socks purchase and Great Lakes Crossing has an indoor free climbing area and there are huge aquariums at the Rainforest Cafe that you can enjoy for free. There are also lots of cheap rides for little kids. Marvelous Marvin's Mechanical Museum costs for the arcade games and rides but not expensive.

Is the Outdoor Adventure Center the indoor MI nature thing that's downtown, cheap, and with great parking? It might also be boring for old enough kids.

What about the Henry ford? It’s a fortune and I don’t know if it’s open Mondays but you can certainly spend several hours there

I’ve heard good things about zap zone and universal nonstop. My kids love Chuck E. Cheese

Well I don't want to pay a fortune LOL so I guess we're not doing henry ford.
But what is it? I googled and found a hospital

Edited to add. Never mind. I found it. Looks interesting, especially in summer, but it needs to be "reactivated" ( interesting terminology!!!)

Henry Ford museum is pretty awesome and while Greenfield village is the coolest place to go during the summer, the museum is second. I know it's pricey but in terms of things to do, it's most entertaining.

There's all sorts of general fun things like bowling, mini golf, jungle java, Dave n Buster's.

Great lakes is just a fun mall to go around and it's free. It has an aquarium but that's expensive.

Belle isle has an aquarium but I've never been, so can't say how good.

An hour out is imagination station in Toledo $17 a kid

Two hours out is
air zoo $15 a person or
Mijer gardens heard it's gorgeous $8.50 for kids $18 adults.

Is the Rouge Factory Tour still open?
Call Belle Isle to find out if the aquarium's open. The website might not be correct. There's also a beautiful and really cool indoor gardens.
