I'm sure you already know this, but make sure to have a faucet continually running to help prevent freezing pipes.

Shayfala!
So my kid just left. Busses were severely delayed because of house stops like someone else posted.
Here they always do house stops for preschool other than in dead-ends. They dont drive into dead-ends. But today they did. And the weather hotline said to wait inside they will honk when they get here.
Very thankful for that bh!

Well Rio is way hotter then Sao Paulo and humid, I don't envy anyone who lives there.
Although people who have grown up here seem to have gotten used to it, while those of us who grew up in a different place fight it very difficult.
To be honest though, 70% of the year, the weather is glorious so I'm not usually complaining

Sure, but just remember, the majority of apartments that I've been in do not have air conditioning so there's no real escape from the heat.

Quite a few have fans, lots of stores and public buildings have air conditioning, but not so many apartments. In Rio most people have (I think) but here in Sao Paulo, a lot of buildings won't let you install units.
The houses are built for the heat so generally (when it's not 90 degrees) with curtains and fans and cross breeze, it can be quite bearable.
