I am B"H in a new house and going to be home for CHOL HA MOED and 2ND DAYS ONLY (I emphasize this that I am not making seders).

I have NOTHING in terms of supplies.

I'm going to only start with milchig equipment since most of the family are vegetarians.

I am assuming I need:

Pots
Pans
Dishes
Silverware
Cups
Glasses
Cooking utensils
Measuring cups/spoons
Some baking/roasting pans
Can opener/corkscrew

What else do I need that is either essential or extremely helpful?
Immersion blender?
Hand mixer? (probably need this, as I like to bake)
Crock pot?

I feel like I"m forgetting stuff. I know this is way in advance but I want to start setting aside money and buying stuff gradually.

TIA!

I wouldn't invest in dishes/silverware for the first year. I would just use disposables.

1 or 2 Pots
Frying pan
Peeler
Knives
serving spoons/spatula
corkscrew/can opener (see if you can kosher your chametz one)
cutting board
measuring cups/spoon (dollar store)
baking sheet
hand mixer
mixing bowl

that should cover the basics unless you're hosting a lot of ppl.

eta: how many ppl are you hosting?
the stuff I listed shouldn't cost more than $100-$200.

I would come up with some sort of menu so you can see what type of equipment you will need. Start cheap. Go to the dollar store for measuring cups mixing bowls etc. maybe buy disposables doe the first year and slowly build up what you have when you see sales throughout the year

First thing I bought was a blender!
I'm a very picky eater, so the entire week of pesach I just had smoothies and milkshakes.
It's also good for making your own matzah meal.

I would not invest in dishes for the first year but I would buy real cutlery.

THIS.

Plan out your meals, then figure out what you'll need. If this is the first time you're doing Pesach, keep it simple, then add to it every year.

Don't forget that you'll need something to cover your counters, unless you're kashering them. A new sink stopper for your sink, and sink inserts if you use then. And something to cover your kitchen and dining room tables -- we use hard plastic over our tablecloths.

And if you drink coffee, a coffee maker.

If you don't subscribe to Brad's Deals, give it a try. They often have great deals on dishes, pots, etc.

Don’t people kasher things for pesach? Obviously can’t kasher everything but cutlery and pots and glasses etc are kasherable

Not all of them are.

Knives in particular are often two pieces, which means that they cannot be kashered.

Pots would need to be taken apart unless they're a single piece, which I've never seen.

Its easier and more efficient for me to have separate Pesach things.

You should get a food list template. Ours includes things like foil and toothpaste. I have one that I modified. It reminds me what foods and quantities I need to buy and groups them in categories.

You can make smoothies with a stick blender so definitely one of those.

Food processor if you think will want to grate vegetables for kugel or salads, or mix egg whites.

Simple cakes like brownies can be mixed by hand, so a mixer is optional.

My daughter has an instant pot for Pesach. It really comes in handy on chol ha moed when they are running around all day but want chicken soup for dinner.

How are you covering counters? I always find that a good thing to take care of in advance.

I wouldn’t buy cheap as a pp wrote. I started making pesach slowly and anything I bought cheap I hated and had to replace. Anything I bought good I enjoyed from day 1 have used for years and hope to keep enjoying.

Cooking graters/slicers? Food processor for potato kugel? Hand blender? Apple corer? Bamboo mixing spoons?

Shabbos? Perculator? Teapot? Blech? Hotplate? Crockpot? Shabbos timers

Storage? Containers? Jars? Bottles? Funnels? Pitchers? Wine decanters? Dip holders? Glassware with covers? Fish pot? Fish holders?

I agree with buying good stuff, especially electronics.

I use my food processor a lot on pesach and went through about 3 cheap ones (not so cheap but not great - kenwood brand) before buying a braun which is fabulous and has not died on me after quite a few years.

Thank you all so much! I forgot important thing like hot water urn and hot plate.
I’m planning on kashering my oven, stove and microwave. We’re not really having company, maybe my in laws and that’s it.

Is it not better to buy permanent stuff now vs. disposable so that way I’ll have it forever?
