my 9 year old ds has had oral motor issues for years off and on. He's gotten therapy (didn't help) and now he's started again with chewing things like tissues . He claims gum doesn't do for him what the texture of non food items do. I ordered those pencil toppers off amazon, way too hard for him. Anyone have any ideas of what I can get him to mimic the sensation of tissues or tzitzis? dh says if he wants to stop, he will. I think we need to replace it with something.
Thanks!

Amazon has a sweat band type bracelet, and material necklaces for this purpose. Have seen it while searching for chewable stuff for my son.

See if he does it more when he's anxious or stressed and deal with that.
