Just asking.

Yes, many a time!
And sometimes, embarrassing as it is, I will go back and switch the little "Post Anonymously" box back to "No."
I admit to relying too much on the ego trip I get from writing a well-crafted and well-received post. I'm not sure if it's the rush I get from the external affirmation, the sense of self-worth I get from feeling needed and useful, or just the haughtiness-o-meter going up a notch.
But it without a doubt is what feeds my imamother addiction.

Yup. No.
Getting likes with anonymous posts.
Not second guessing my anonymity.

Yes to the first, and it makes me wonder if I write better when I write about more personal topics.
Or whether people just disregard what I say when they see my name come up.

It happens to me all the time, but I never felt like going back and changing it to anonymous.
This works both ways. Posters get likes because of who they are sometimes. I am guilty of liking certain posters posts.

No.
Those posts are usually personal stories relating to the op's question and no matter how many likes, I don't want to reveal all of my personal stories and experiences.

We are probably sensing your feeling and passion relating to those personal topics.

Exactly. I imagine the only time this feeling would come would be if the post is anonymous because the poster is worried about how the opinion will be accepted. I post anon for personal info (including location), or if there's a good possibility I will add personal info in a later post to flesh out the idea.

I once posted a somewhat snarky comment to anti-vaxxers, and then chickened out and went anon.
I got well over 100 likes in the first 24 hours.
I was tempted to go back and put my SN up, but thought better of it.

If I went anonymous originally, it's because there was a good reason for it, and the number of likes won't change the original reason. Yes, it's annoying because I want my good posts to be acknowledged as written by me, but I can't un-anonymify (!) a post due to privacy/tznius.

What's to be afraid of? A woman will write words on the internet?

And I think it works vice versa too.

You're on . I started the ball rolling.
Me, I usually post under my username unless I am sharing something really personal, and then, I'm not inclined to want to change it. Once or twice, when someone reacted to an anonymous post, I pm'ed them.

If I posted anonymous there was a reason. Likes don’t change it. And I still feel good if it gets liked a lot.

Its deeper than the “likes” for me: sometimes I post anon and then feel like I really connected to other members when they responded and wish I can say who I am but its frustrating that for whatever reasons I cant...
