We're considering a move to a new city. Not too far from our current one (less than 2 hours' drive) but an entirely new community - new neighborhood, new schools. My oldest will be in 6th grade. He is a kid who has social challenges, and on one hand, I think the chance to start fresh with a new group of kids would be good for him - but on the other hand, he's likely to be anxious and resistant to it.
My other kids are younger, more sociable, more adaptable, and I'm not too worried about their ability to adjust. Just wondering what others have experienced with kids this age. Any insight would be much appreciated!

Oh my goodness, so many variables here. It really depends on your kid, the school, the other kids, the neighborhood. A million things could go wrong, or it could be the best thing you've ever done.
My only advice is to keep constant communication flowing with DS, and listen to every single worry he has. Take him seriously, and don't try to sugar coat things. Let him know that there may be some things that might be hard, but that you'll be there to get through it as a family.
