I help my husband with his business. Until now, anyone he hired was a contractor, so there was very little work involved in payments - just writing checks and filing a 1099 at year end. He's looking to hire an employee to help him out more, and that involves more. I used to work in payroll years ago, so I have some idea -withholding taxes, quarterly state and federal filings, fed and state unemployment, workers comp come to mind. As well as signing up for all of them.

Is there a website or program that consolidates all of this? Where it can do all the filings, etc? It's just one employee and a lot of headache.

You should use a payroll company like quickbooks intuit. If you process the payroll bi-weekly it'll be cheaper for u fyi.
I had a great experience with them when I had a specific payroll with just one employee. I set it up myself and it was so super simple and ez.

I also use Quickbooks online and it's great. It calculates everything for you.
