I find it puzzling that in middle of dealing with a sick child or such issue, someone would say to themselves, “Better sign onto the internet and ask the mothers what to do...”

You should obviously know not to bring your child in when he just has a cold . The drs aren't hiding anything they can't give a blanket statement as when to bring your child in and when not to
. A Dr can not diagnose your child over the phone . It's impossible and that's why they always tell you to bring the child in .
P.s. drs aren't money hungry human beings . Most drs actually care about their patients and most drs aren't rolling in dough either . |
My health insurance has a whole program of drs that diagnose over the phone.

Nobody said how the fear of malpractice dictates how many doctors practice. I actually left one pediatrician who managed to bring up the issue of malpractice at every visit.
Asking on imamother is like asking your mother, sister, good friend, etc. Sometimes you really know the answer someplace deep in your heart and just need it confirmed.

One of my kids had very standard symptoms. Vomiting, crying. Called dr. Sent us to ER. Child had intestinal blockage that required emergency surgery.
