1 set with 12 servings. I wouldn't even have room to store another set.

Are they 2 different patterns?

Having a pretty table can be done without adding another set of dishes.

Many people use fancy disposable dishes for Purim.

3 different patterns, or 3 sets of the same pattern?

I somehow wound up with my BIL's dishes when he divorced, so I suppose that technically I have 2 different patterns. But I only use one (with service for 14); I suppose that one of my kids will wind up with BIL's someday.

Can't even fathom having another set of Shabbos dishes. We have milchig, weekday fleshig (Corelle), and Shabbos China. Why should there be a 4th set? Where would I put it?!

Considering that many frum Jews have shabbos dishes, meat and dairy weekday dishes, and possibly pesach dishes as well-I wouldn't be looking for more dishes! I'd be more likely to invest in accessories. Maybe try buying different sets of chargers, different colors and textures tablecloths, runners, napkins...They can totally change the look of your table.

I have at least 18. Maybe even 24. I had them on my wedding regestry and just recieved a ton. I was going to return them but my mother told me one day I will be happy I have them cuz some will break and I'll be hosting down the line. I'm ten years down the line and still think its kind of overkill.

My purim table was set up really nice. I used disposables. For Shabbos I have service for. 24 I just got a new set after 10 years. And I wanted to make sure I would have enough. My old set was service for 12 and I probably have left service for 8.

People often use nice disposable or buy trendy inexpensive pieces.

We have service for 27. I’ve added over the years and a few broke along the way. Glad I can still get dishes.
