Privacy? Hah! Remember, I have kids!

Really, I should print this thread out and stick it under the noses of people who claim that "online friends aren't real friends"! Everyone's support and tefillos have been utterly humbling and played a huge part in my recovery.

I was sprung from the hospital a couple of days before Pesach, and my doctor agreed to let me take mega-doses of oral antibiotics on Yom Tov instead of having to make elaborate arrangements to have a non-Jew take me to the infusion center, etc.

Pesach was great, particularly since Clementine, Druscilla, Prunella, and Prunella's DH did most of work!

My white counts are back to normal and my only remaining problems are fatigue, which is getting better, and healing blisters on one leg (caused by excessive swelling -- the infection was basically chased down to one leg, where it hung on with remarkable tenacity).

So I go twice a week to a wound care specialist who disinfects and wraps my leg up.

Now, ask yourself, "Given Hashem's sense of humor, who would He send to administer to Fox's wounds?"

Yes, you guessed it: a gay Trump supporter who wants to hash over the fine points of the Mueller report and chazer over the Twitterverse while he slathers various ointments on my leg and winds 6 or 7 bandages around it. Though he was mildly disppointed to learn that not all Orthodox Jews know Ben Shapiro. He's got me booked for appointments through June and has a whole plan for strengthening the circulation in my legs so that I never, ever get another infection there.

While it's impossible to know Hashem's intent, it seems pretty obvious that He's saying, "You want to discuss politics, Fox? Well, honey, leave the Imamothers alone. Instead, you can prance off to the hospital twice a week and chew over the latest news to your heart's content!"

Seriously, though, Hashem was incredibly kind. I wasn't aware of just how sick I was until people started coming in to discuss how much effort they should go to in order to keep me alive and all the nurses start looking nervous and agitated.

As for posts on the seminary thread, etc., I've been here so long that no one needs me to post anymore. You all know what I'm going to say, anyway:

1. Going to seminary just because everyone else is doing it is stupid.

2. "How do you get your mother's goat? Find out where it's tied." Don't let your kids know where you tie your goat.

3. A high-quality handbag can make up for a wide range of fashion derelictions and goes a long way in convincing gay Trump supporters to painstakingly care for your wounds rather than saying, "Eh, you're fine! Walk it off, Princess!"

So happy and grateful to HaShem to hear that you are improving and doing so much better. May you be able to do the "Fox Trot" full of kochos and painlessly very soon.

PF, I certainly didn't mean to violate Fox's privacy! I didn't even realize she was back to posting, though now that you mention it, I realize I should have just searched for her posts.

I will do that now, so I can reassure myself that she's okay.

Let me say this in public. I didn't mean to assume you were being prying. You want to know what we all do and you asked nicely. I just wanted to say that it's ok if for whatever reason Fox chooses not to offer updates. And I'm sure you agree.

Thanks for the update.
And your wound doctor - just too much. I'm still smiling.

Fox, I am so happy to hear you are doing better!

I don't quite understand how the handbags are helping, but that is due to my poor knowledge of handbags. And I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your discussion of politics with your medical care provider! None of my medical care providers ever bring up politics with me.

Right?! Me neither!

He was very cagey about it, mentioning that he didn't know much about Orthodox Jews except what he'd heard on Ben Shapiro's show. I made a joke about all the stuff Shapiro advertises on his show, and he asked me some of the people I follow on Twitter. Apparently I passed some kind of conservative sniff test, because that unleashed more chit-chat than I'd bargained for.

Normally I wouldn't advise mixing health care and politics. But like I said, I think Hashem is just attempting to keep both me and my wound care specialist from annoying other people.

You're cracking me up while at the same time putting me to shame for feeling extremely crabby even though I'm not dangerously infected and have nothing to complain about. Sigh/ROFL strange combo I know.

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

Cute story Fox, my 5 year old and I were saying tehillim for you and I say out loud "refuah shelema for....." and I couldn't recall your Hebrew name so I said "for fox." (Hashem knows who I mean) and my 5 year old says "who?" And I told him fox is like a nickname. He accepted that. This past shabbos I asked him if he wanted me to help him say his kapital and he says "yes and can we say it for your friend dog?" I smiled and said "fox, yes let's say it for fox what a great idea!"

Glad you are feeling better fox and hope this little story brings a smile to your face,as it did to me.
