My parents and in laws have LED bulbs, its sooooo bright takes alot of getting used to. My parents ended up taking out a couple of bulbs, we couldn't keep our eyes open without getting a headache.

Yes. You can buy whatever brightness you want. You can also go for warm light, a whiter light, etc. For me it was a plus, as I was able to lighten the room more.

Yes. I even had the old type where the ballast is under the bulb which was awful for my dining room. A few weeks ago, I was in BINGO BP and found warm dimmable LED chandelier bulbs. I bought them as a Pesach gift to myself. The dining room looks great. Technology has caught up with the fixtures we have now and they look nice and are inexpensive. They even have that Edison bulb line-filament look.
