so when you have guests coming, how much in advance does one change the linen
usually I do so right before they come, but I was wondering if washing & changing earlier in the week is okay
or will it seem not fresh and/or dusty ?!

I wouldn't think it gets dusty that quickly. Totally fine imo.

I change my linen on Monday and have guest almost every Shabbos. It’s perfectly ok.

We also wash on Monday and if nobody sleeps on it, it's ready for guests on shabbos. Makes it easier to do things slowly instead of all at once.
