We traveled through Ukraine. Just wanted to let everyone know that they are very strict with hand luggage. They demanded payment for every piece they felt was too big or too much. In NY they screamed at people that they have too much handbags and need to back and check it in. The woman who called for boarding kept screaming row numbers and if you were the wrong row she yelled and that we can’t board until we follow her instructions.
We had similar experience with other airlines.
The connecting flights are smaller airplanes and passengers should make sure their hand luggage is exact or smaller size. They are very strict. (And no this was not anti semitism they are equally mean to everyone).

My main concern with traveling to Ukraine at this point would be exposure to measles, not how much hand luggage they let through. My second concern would be the political instability in Ukraine.

With any airline, you need to check check in and hand luggage requirements extremely carefully.
