Planning on doing this hike, but one of the young ladies with our group cannot get wet above the knee ( splash is fine)..how high does this water go? Is it as deep as madrasa or ankle height?

When we were there a few summers ago, I'd say knee-deep was the highest, but now it's Spring following a very wet winter.
I'd call them up and ask.
