I know it’s a pain, but do you mind typing up this recipe? It’s not really clearly written, and I’m getting confused as to what goes where, and what needs to be done when.

Thanks!!

Thanks ces! One more question, if I want to make it in advance should I prep it and freeze then fry that day? Or can I fry in advance also? How do you do it?

We have dairy allergies and lactose intolerance so all meat meals. Dairy for kiddush.

I haven't decided on the salads and veggie sides, and I haven't decided what goes where.

Mains: roast, glazed corned beef, grilled chicken, sesame chicken

Sides: I tried the pastrami orzo, cranberry kugel, carrot muffins, deli roll, franks and blanks, roasted potatoes

Appetizers: teriyaki salmon, burekas, meatballs, melon skewers

Desserts: layered sorbet, ice cream pie, cinnamon buns, mint brownies.

Vegies: I think string beans, roasted broccoli, roasted cauliflower, glazed tzimmes.

Fresh green salad at each meal.

I tend to make all the food, then before each meal decide what I'm in the mood to serve- 2 sides, 1 or 2 mains, 1 veggie, 1 starter. I'll juggle it so the meatballs are an appetizer to a chicken main.

I'm not exactly sure what I'll serve when but here are some of the recipes I'll be using (all tested and taste delicious)

(Tori Avey has amazing recipes)
sweet lokshen kugel https://toriavey.com/toris-kit.....ugel/

unstuffed cabbage (I just use a bag of bodek cabbage) https://toriavey.com/toris-kit.....bage/

olive chicken https://toriavey.com/toris-kit.....cken/

honey garlic chicken https://toriavey.com/toris-kit.....cken/

sweet potato pecan casserole https://www.foodnetwork.com/re.....73555

And here is the easiest cheesecake recipe that tastes delicious (so easy to double, quadruple.... I actually just made 8 of them today. You can make it without the pie filling.
https://www.tasteofhome.com/re.....-pie/

I warm up my food on a hot plate that is plugged into a wifi timer. From my phone I can set up when it should go on and off. I love it. My kitchen gets really hot when anything is left on so this allows me to keep things on for the minimum that is necessary.

Wayyyyy easier recipe- boil equal parts ketchup and ginger ale. Make meatballs. Add to pot. Add cabbage to pot.
The end.

I try very hard not to cook with sugar. This recipe doesn't sound very healthy Smile
(I know I posted the sweet kugel which has lots of sugar but that's an anomaly for me, only because it's shavuos)

Ketchup itself has tons of sugar in it. Sugar free uses sweeteners which aren't great either (actually worse for kids the sugar itself)
Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of treats and I serve dessert... I just like to keep it out of the main food. I'd prefer for the desserts to be sweet and not the food. My husband's family is sephardic so they traditionally cook spicier food and the food tends not to be sweet.

thunder,

can you please share your recipe for breaded chicken cutlets with sweet sauce?

I am trying to use more chicken cutlets (rather than meat) and am blank on what to make. For me, I won't leave on an oven, so I have to warm it up or cook it on the stovetop...

I will be making the cutlets fresh on the stove top before the seuda. Just bread and fry as usual , in either breadcrumbs or cornflake crumbs.

The sauce make separately . It can be made before Shabbos , refrigerated and be warmed up on the stove top prior to serving or make fresh before seuda.

1 large onion slices
4 cloves garlic crushed (I use the frozen cubes)
1/2 Cup ketchup
3/4 Cup brown sugar
1/2 Cup water
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame seeds

Sautee onion and garlic in oil until golden. Add ketchup , brown sugar and water. Boil 10-15 min. Add soy sauce and sesame seeds. Bring to a boil and serve over breaded chicken cutlets.

this is actually our minhag. But the first year I prepared a nice milchig meal and then some fleishig to have an hour later. No one touched it. And since we actually enjoy yom tov more when we don't eat chicken or meat 6 meals in a row I think we are keeping the spirit of yom tov.

Actually it gets dark so late on shavuos here (11pm this week!!!) we end up eating our night meal (whick is fleishig) while still technically day time. (can't remember exactly how we do this...I guess after plag hamincha)

Hear$ this today: roll a slice cutlet over a halved peeled peach or nectarine. Bake with a sauce on top. Can use the French dressing.
If anyone knows more about this recipe, would love to hear.
