With the Qustodio as well there are time limits for Internet usage. So if my kids are staying up late to work on a report, they can do it on their user that has no Internet access at that time. If I am up and around I will let them do it on my user, where there is Internet access. But they know if I go to bed (or if my DH and I are both not home during the day) they cannot be on my user.
I can't compare the two but I used to use Microsoft directly and there were a lot of problems with the white list (maybe because I also had K9 at the time, I'm not sure)--things like the kids not being able to access any info on whitelisted sites. The Qustodio is working great.
