My 11 yr old daughter is getting excellent piano lessons from home.
The teacher is going the classical route - lots of exercises and basic pieces to build up skills and theory.
My daughter however doesn't want to continue unless she can learn to play contemporary Jewish songs.
She teacher's not into doing it this way because (and I agree), this isn't a methodical way of learning piano.
But my daughter won't continue unless we do it this way.
Is anyone familiar with a book or website that can be used to teach piano utilizing Jewish music ? (Perhaps an Israeli book?)
Right now all we have is basic sheet music which provides a simple right hand tune with chords. This really isn't a way to learn piano properly. I'd like proper compositions - right and left hand, building up in skill level and complexity.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
