6 lb. boneless chuck roast, what temp and for how long?

I don't prepare roasts very often. So I need to know the basics. What is the best temp for roasting a 6 lb. boneless chuck roast, and for how long? Covered or uncovered? And does it need to be seared beforehand, or any salt or flour added on top? That's what all the google recipes were saying, but I trust all you imamothers more than google. TIA for your help!
