I have a pair of outdated earrings that I inherited from my mother a”h. It’s the only real jewelry that I have from her and it’s been sitting in the drawer unworn for years. I had the idea to maybe take it to a jeweler to change it into a piece that I would wear. Does anyone know of jeweler that could do that? I’m looking for someone creative as I don’t really know what I could do with it. I live in Flatbush.

I don’t live in Brooklyn so I can’t really help you but I wanted you to know that it can be done. A diamond dealer I know with an office in Manhattan has taken my old jewelry and made something new out of it. (Ex. A bracelet made into earrings...) this is something that is done often.

I know someone in my family who did this at Feldman Jewelry in BP. He is also very reasonably priced and an honest guy.

To take jewelry and make it into something else? Or he just used the gold and the diamonds go to waste? I know there are some who do it this way. They use the gold and the diamonds are useless

Bumping this to ask. Does this end up being cheaper than buying something new?
