What are inexpensive health insurance options for dd who is in between things, in nyc, until she finds a job, not eligible to be on our insurance due to age. Worked half a year this year. Is she eligible for obamacare or something else? Not eligible for medicaid. Not interested in health shares.

She Needs to get insurance through the health exchange. Premiums are subsidized based on income and if income low enough, you quality for Medicaid.

However unless there was a life changing event, you can’t purchase insurance in the middle of the year.

Which companies in the health exchange are recommended? How is Fidelis, Health First, Oscar?

If her job/health insurance just expired you might be able to get on healthcare.gov

You can always purchase insurance; you just can't get it on the exchange in the middle of the year unless you've had some qualifying event. It is very expensive if you don't buy it through the exchange. But it's still quite expensive even if you do buy it through the exchange. COBRA is expensive, too, but not nearly as much as through the exchange, and certainly not as much as buying privately without the exchange.

This.

See https://www.healthcare.gov/cov.....riod/

She must have lost her health insurance within the past 60 days (although I'd still try if it was earlier than that), so tell her not to delay
