I have some simchas coming up soon and realized that all my dressy clothes are for winter (think black velvet, definitely not wearing to a June wedding.)

What is in style? What should I expect to spend if budget is a concern but I want to look nice? Where in Brooklyn or Queens should I look?

I'm short-waisted, average height, and my weight/figure is what I guess you could call "not skinny anymore after having kids." I am not a teenager anymore but I don't want to look old. And I abhor straight skirts (I like to walk and sit on occasion.) Please give me a clue.

Try Fashion Island upstairs. They’re moderately priced and have some nice things. There’s also Exquisite in Boro Park.

Prices have gone up recently like crazy. What you used to be able to get for $150 (a nice dress for weddings) is now almost $300. It's ridiculous.

Try Junees. Even if it's a simple dress - with nice jewelry, heels, shaitel, and makeup, you could for sure make it look nice enough for a wedding.

Can you make it to a Zara? I have found clothes fit for a wedding there for $60-100. It’s also about how you style it. Long sleeves, high necks, and lower hemlines are trending now, so you can do very well in non-Jewish stores.
