There could be a few things. He’s a teen. I’ve discussed comments like that with him and tznuis speech many times. He’s also heard me say about valuing middos and not looks in a reflective way about myself. I’ll even say like “BH My career isn’t based on how I look” when someone comments about a celebrity’s looks. I do not try and correct others and I do not give an extra compliment to him about his middos to offset the physical comment because it seems insincere if said then and because it could lead to resentment with siblings.
