Do I need to hem my 5 yo boy's pants or can I roll them up? After a few washes I'm sure they'll shrink anyway.

I would just fold up as needed, for everyday.
If they were for shabbos then I would hem them with an inch left in to allow for growth .

If you think they will shrink, then shrink them first.

This is a good suggestion. I wouldn’t just roll them up as when kids run they will unroll. Maybe just secure rolled up bottom with couple of stitches.
