But acts like a 4 or 5 year old sometimes. In other times he is wise and mature. He cries if he gets rained on, or comes yo me if he has a scrape. We are moving and I am very worried he won't make friends. He was bullied a lot this past year. We had a therapist but he was not much help. He is almost 8. Help!

I strongly suggest continuing with therapy. Even psychotherapy of that's what you can get. If he is bullied, having someone to talk thru his feelings would be helpful, and between the move and puberty coming up, it would be good to c have a trusted person in place to talk to.

Maybe look into a social skills group? Or a better therapist? It's hard because he wants friends and you see why he doesn't have, but there's no magic wand to fix it. Hugs!

Social skills group Over the summer. Can the school recommended holding him back if he is socially immature?

Op here. The problem is he is too bright to be held back.
