I like the dirt devil canister vacuum. It's light and easy to maneuver. You can reach into every crevice and under the sofa without breaking your hand. Also I like that it's relatively cheap and you can clean it easily.

Still using my Shark Navigator Lift-Away 5 years later.
Actually, let me revise.
My *kids* are still using it -- it's lightweight enough for them!
Can use it like upright or more like canister style.
Filtered, no bags needed, great warranty, no belts or anything to replace.
Rotator came out after this....never compared the 2 to see if I am losing out by using the Navigator.
