How is that possible? Is food included? Most places charge $925 per couple.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Is it $499 per person, based on double occupancy?

$60 for all shabbos food for 3 adults? You must have cooked most food or brought frozen from home?
Also, people are paying for the convenience of having a shul and a minyan, and gourmet food without having to prepare a thing.
Of course, those frum places are very expensive. I'm just saying you can't really compare a shabbos in a motel with a shabbos in a frum hotel.

Right, you are paying for the food, amenities, and probably entertainment. Availability of non mixed swimming, etc.

I'm sure there's a catch. Or added fees in the small print. Or just one room available at that price.

I've been on such shabbosim years ago for 499 a couple when overall regular prices were more like 750 a couple.

They give you considerably less food than by others. No round the clock shiurim or entertainment. Dont think there was even a show motzei shabbos.

Lets say instead of a full shmorg for toamehu, they might have 3 dishes like potato kugel, farfel, cholent.

For breakfast instead of having 15 types of cheesecake, maybe cereal, little yogurt, one type of cheesecake.

For shalosh seuda instead of having lox/fish platters & full salad bar they might only give tuna/egg salad & plain veg salad

For mm they ordered pizza not a full choice bar.

The hotels were nice.

At one of them, food was totally miscalculated. It was chaos because there wasnt enough food. Caterer was the first time doing such a type of event. He claimed that food was ordered for considerably fewer people that was accounted for. Host claimed that people werent honest & brought more kids than they said.

Catering was also mismanaged. Adults were supposed to get salmon, kids only gefilte fish. Waiter first served the salmon portions to all kids, leaving half adults with no salmon anymore.

Because there wasnt enough food, there was a chaptzem by every buffet meal

It also ended up being more money, they added tax & tips. For a cot in room extra, for child's shabbos food extra etc....

Also what ends up happening is that people dont realize over shabbos that you get what you paid for, so be happy with what you got for this price, people feel cheated. Look we paid so much money & were not getting anything, people dont stop being grumpy & complaining.

Don't end up in one of those desperate situations being stranded from home with nowhere to rest your head and no food to eat.
Remember the recent scam thread from shavuos? That took place (or didn't) at this same recently sold hotel.

Absent from the ad is identifying information of the person taking your money/who is running the event. Also the name of the hashgacha and caterer.

Do you think a family with some young kids could do this? What is there to do all afternoon? Is It in walking distance to other frum places/ shuls?
It’s a good idea for a cheap getaway but I’m wondering what you did all day.. did you just hang out in the motel room? Did your son room with you?

That ad - do people really do this? Who designs these ads?
