Waze can tell you exactly how long it will take to drive. No one can tell you if there's going to be an accident or your car will break down. When you travel on a Friday, you must leave with lots of time to spare.

In general, if I have to travel on a Friday, my rule of thumb is to double the travel time as my padding. So a trip that Waze reports takes 3 hours, I will plan to leave 6 hours before the latest time I'm comfortable arriving.
