In 35 y.o. house, if you need a new Central A/C unit, its better to buy new furnace too?
Central unit costs $2500+, new furnace costs additional $3000+.
Most experienced AC company owner said you need a new furnace for new central a/c unit to work well.
Another well known company said only to buy A/C unit.
Has anyone replaced their central a/c unit in a 35 y.o. house, that still had the original furnace?
